For more than 33 years, I have dedicated my career as a dental hygienist to educating patients on how oral health profoundly influences overall health and quality of life. My passion for patient education and prevention has only grown stronger with time, and I’ve built my professional path around being a lifelong learner committed to excellence in clinical care.
I completed my initial certification in myofunctional therapy through MyoMentor in 2023, with an updated certification in 2026, expanding my ability to support patients with functional concerns related to breathing, swallowing, and oral rest posture. To deepen my understanding of complex pain and dysfunction, I pursued advanced training in Functional Neuromyofascial Theory (FNFT) for TMD and orofacial pain, along with hands‑on coursework through the Orofacial Recovery Institute.
Most recently, I earned certification in the Cotten Method for oral cancer screening and completed Oncology Oral Care training through the National Network of Healthcare Hygienists, strengthening my ability to support patients before, during, and after cancer treatment. This work has become a meaningful part of my clinical identity, allowing me to help patients navigate oral complications, maintain comfort, and protect systemic health during vulnerable times.
Across all of my training and experience, one theme has remained constant: I am committed to bridging the gap between the medical and dental communities. My goal is to ensure that every patient — especially those with complex medical needs — receives coordinated, evidence‑based care that supports whole‑body wellness. By staying current with research, refining my clinical skills, and collaborating across disciplines, I strive to deliver the best possible outcomes for every client I serve.
At Cornerstone Myo, our mission is to re‑educate and normalize the oral and facial muscles to support healthier breathing, speaking, swallowing, and restorative sleep. By improving the way the oral system functions, we help patients build a stronger foundation for whole‑body wellness.
We are dedicated to identifying early signs of oral dysfunction, including patterns that may contribute to TMJ pain, airway challenges, and compensatory habits. Through evidence‑based myofunctional therapy and collaborative care, we empower patients to understand their symptoms and take an active role in their health.
For individuals undergoing cancer treatment, we provide specialized guidance to limit the effects of radiation and chemotherapy on the oral, digestive, and respiratory systems. We support patients and caregivers with education, prevention strategies, and compassionate care to protect comfort, function, and quality of life throughout the oncology journey.
Above all, Cornerstone Myo is committed to bridging the gap between the medical and dental communities, ensuring every patient receives coordinated, comprehensive care that honors the connection between oral health and overall health.
